Photography 365: October 2011
http://wordsbywalma.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Monday, October 31, 2011. Day 304 - Reflections in sharp focus. I don't know. Maybe I play too much with reflections. There do seem to be a lot of photographs on this blog that involve the reflection of one building in the windows of another. And I'm pleased with the balance created by the reflected tree branches to the left of the image and the foreground branches to the right. Cool. Not a bad photo taken with the Olympus on full automatic mode. And, if you reca...

Photography 365: Cape Breton overwhelms expectations...
http://wordsbywalma.blogspot.com/2014/08/cape-breton-overwhelms-expectations.html
Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Saturday, August 9, 2014. Cape Breton overwhelms expectations. Awesome tree on the way to Uisage Bahn Falls. We were quite certain Cape Breton would meet our very high expectations when we set out for a week-long visit last Saturday but we were amazed at how easily and how far Cape Breton actually those expectations. White Point, about half way out. This allowed us to move about freely and get a taste of all the different areas of Cape Breton. We stayed at th...

Photography 365: To the lighthouse...

Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Monday, July 14, 2014. Just a brief note to introduce my favourite photo from our recent trip to Caraquet. I won't say anything more, other than that it was taken at the light house at the tip of Miscou Island, which is located where the waters of the Baie des Chaleurs and the Gulf of the St. Lawrence meet off northeast New Brunswick. Photography 365: Hotel Paulin makes Caraquet a great place to visit
http://wordsbywalma.blogspot.com/2014/07/hotel-paulin-makes-caraquet-great-place.html
Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Saturday, July 12, 2014. Hotel Paulin makes Caraquet a great place to visit. Some photos from our recent trip to Caraquet, a lovely town on the Acadian Peninsula in the northeast corner of New Brunswick. We stayed at the Hotel Paulin, hosted by Gerard Paulin and Karen Mersereau, to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and, to put it bluntly, enjoyed the best meal we've had in those ten years. The Baie de Chaleur from our window. Deck chairs outside the Paulin.

Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Saturday, July 14, 2012. Photographic favourites from November. 1: Waiting for the Wind (308). So here we are. Trying to choose our favourite photograph from the month of November. I'm sorry to say it but November was not a stellar month and it wasn't easy coming up with shots for this selection. That being said, I know very clearly which is my favourite. I'm just interested to see if you like the same one I do. 2: Dog Days (330). 3: Magic Pods (312). During a re...

Photography 365: September 2012
http://wordsbywalma.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Sunday, September 2, 2012. December's favourite photo is. Our Final Winner, which caught the taste of the season. Although other photos also received votes, most people felt this one captured December best. I have to admit, the tree lights shot would likely have been my last choice of the five but I must bow to the will of the voters! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Burrow burnt; the Burrow rebuilt. Minding my own stitches.

Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Day 334 - A jumpy collection of lights. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Day 333 - The blurred brick wall. One theme I seem to be exploring of late in my photographs is the idea of different levels in the image, especially the simplest two: the foreground and the background. Links to this post. Monday, November 28, 2011. Day 332 - Beer taps in the sky. Wow Do I ever love this shot! Links to this post. As anyone who rea...

Photographic Thoughts From New Brunswick. Saturday, February 25, 2012. May's Favourite Photo is. Morning Splendour. I'm glad that this one got the vast majority of the votes because I really love this shot. Taken from the southern bank of the St. John River looking east, this shot captures how really beautiful this river can be. Links to this post. Monday, February 20, 2012.
