Searls Stuff: It's Great to be Eight!
http://searlsstuff.blogspot.com/2015/01/its-great-to-be-eight.html
Sunday, January 4, 2015. It's Great to be Eight! This post is for you, Maggie Lyn Gutierrez! Maggie Lyn's baptism was held on Saturday afternoon. It is a day she has looked forward to all year! Maggie looked beautiful on her special day. She wore the same dress that her mommy wore when she was baptized and that made it even more special. We were so proud of Maggie and her decision to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Searls Stuff: April 2014
http://searlsstuff.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 6, 2014. This year, our Saturday was no different. I had grocery shopping to do, Ron had work commitments, and Maggie had soccer games. In addition, Scott was on duty and it is Temple Fire and Rescue's Fill the Boot weekend. So, after 3 trips by his corner, we were finally able to stuff some cash into Scott's boot. Filling the boot and getting free stickers! We sat on the edge of the soccer field, in chilly winds, under beautifully stormy skies to watch Maggie's team win a soccer game.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Camping Spring Break 2014. And the slow accumulation of camping gear that elevated our meals from cold cut sandwiches to campfire deliciousness! Unfortunately, as the kids got older and moved away, the camping trips became fewer and farther between. The last time we went camping was when the grandson, Seth, was only 2. I still chuckle when I think of him roasting hot dogs over the campfire and saying, "I'm cookin' num-nums for my daddy.". We are already planning the next trip!

Searls Stuff: September 2013
http://searlsstuff.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 5, 2013. Back to School 2013-2014. Well, Brian got the storage room cleared out after all! Brian is our campus CIS, and he promised me at the end of last year that he would get the storage room, that would be my "classroom" this year, cleaned out and move my things down for me before the school year started. It was stacked floor to ceiling with instructional materials! I have no idea where he put it all, but I don't really want to know! I'm lucky the colors look good in my little room!

Searls Stuff: July 2013

Friday, July 19, 2013. Before and After.#3 and #4 Bathroom and Kitchen re-do. I started this before and after on July 1st. It has been a long and exhausting job; which would not be finished today if it weren't for Ron pitching in. (Thank you, Sugarbear! I went into this knowing it would take most of my summer, worried that it might be a huge disaster, and determined to not be making a horrible mistake. I am pleased with the results. Other side of the kitchen with more ugly cabinets and paneling. Looking ...

Searls Stuff: Sixty Years
http://searlsstuff.blogspot.com/2014/12/sixty-years.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Luckily, we were able to celebrate one of the most important milestones in their lives. I was hesitant to take many pictures of Dad because I didn't know how the relatives living so far away would react to seeing his tumor. But, I couldn't NOT take any. Below are some simple photographs randomly snapped throughout the evening. I was thrilled to see that everyone's face was filled with happiness and gratitude for this gift of spending this precious evening with them. During the...

Searls Stuff: August 2013
http://searlsstuff.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 31, 2013. I have not tried freezing these ahead of time so I can't guarantee that these will work. It is just something I wanted to try. I'll post again as I try each one to keep a record of which ones worked out and which didn't. Here are variations of two I used today. I cut all of the ingredients and split them into two bags. Then, I sliced the roast in half. This made 2 meals for us because the recipe makes 8 servings.). 4 medium potatoes, cut into chunks. 2 1/2 - 3 lb beef roast.
