Maryanne Musing: July 2013
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Anyway, here I am, halfway through the summer on a day when we lunched on donuts, cheese curls and soda (outing in the car which was supposed to occur much earlier, but ended up covering the time when everyone was hungry). Oh, this is the cake, with Happy Father's Day banner by Laura, and with accompanying whipped cream and raspberries. Father's Day Interview with Elijah (he wrote his name himself, with backwards J and all- he prefers his full name now), age 5. My Dad is 14. Speak...

Favorite Books for Young Readers 2010 – Casa Camisas
https://casacamisas.wordpress.com/2011/01/17/favorite-books-for-young-readers-2010
Favorite Books for Young Readers 2010. January 17, 2011. By popular demand, the list is back! Although, it’s a bit simplified this year. In the past. I’ve included images of every book, annotations for each book, and sometimes even a. To each book’s Amazon.com page. You know what that is? About five hours’ worth of work. And considering that I’m only 2 days away from Baby Katie’s due date, five hours is a commitment I just can’t make right now. So fire up those library cards! Clever Jack Takes the Cake.

Maryanne Musing: April 2012
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 2, 2012. This weekend our crabapple trees popped. The 2 behind our dining room are covered in fragrant white blossoms. This is why people plant these otherwise not very pretty trees. And we spent some hours between conference this Saturday cutting off many dead branches in hopes of preserving the rest of the trees (no dunging or digging about yet, though, and yes, we just covered Jacob 5 in Sunday School). Now are they, or our newly unpopcorned ceilings more beautiful? My life in food.

Blue in the Face – Casa Camisas
https://casacamisas.wordpress.com/2008/02/03/blue-in-the-face
Blue in the Face. February 3, 2008. This past Wednesday, we had friends over for dinner — a sweet couple and their two-year-old girl. The best part of having dinner friends is that we get to have real dinner conversation. With real, breathing, adults. Who actually talk about something BESIDES Star Wars. However, in order for this clever conversing to occur, we needed something with which to distract the kids. A Secret Weapon, if you will. Like a big ol’ box of crayons! How grownup is THAT? However, all o...

Maryanne Musing: August 2012
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 24, 2012. Sometimes the Title is the Hardest Part. Especially when the post is about nothing in particular. The kids have been back at school for one week. My house stays a lot cleaner and the food stays around longer. Alexander has been adjusting well to 5th grade (it's a combined 5th/6th class) and his spelling words are still too easy! Going beyond the regular curriculum? Alexander had follow-up appointments toward the end of July and he's doing fine. We have ended physical therapy!

Maryanne Musing: Sibling Co-operation
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2014/01/sibling-co-operation.html
Friday, January 10, 2014. Eli asked me "what if someone sent me a valentine that said 'Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Turkeys are dumb and so are you'? He followed up with, "If someone did that to me, I would hit them. Except if they were 6 years old, then I'd go get Charlie to help.". Good to know he's planning for the unexpected? And relying on his brother? January 13, 2014 at 2:05 AM. Wed love to get there some day! January 13, 2014 at 10:15 PM. This made me laugh out loud! Hes a logical thinker.

Maryanne Musing: June 2012
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 29, 2012. Costco opened here on Wednesday. I know, that was the exciting news you were all looking for. We dropped by yesterday since Jared was working just up the street. It was a madhouse. OK, not a Brooklyn Costco madhouse, but for here, a madhouse. We are spoiled with the lack of store craziness. And he has decided that he doesn't really want to miss anything by sleeping (and I'm failing at keeping the kids noise away from him- summer vacation is loud(! Today the children have actually b...

Maryanne Musing: February 2013
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 22, 2013. Picture by Black Room Photography. This past fall we had the kids start interviewing their grandparents when they visited. We got a little handheld recorder for them to use and we can upload the audio files to the computer. They've been fun and informative (the kids ask different questions than I would think to). This has sparked an interest in the kids interviewing each other. I found post it notes on which Alexander recorded his interview of Laura. A: Pittsburgh and Florida.

Maryanne Musing: My Fifth Two Year Old
http://maryannemusing.blogspot.com/2014/01/my-fifth-two-year-old.html
Tuesday, January 7, 2014. My Fifth Two Year Old. I don't know why I keep expecting them to be the same. The kids surprise me in both good and bad ways every day. This two year old is adorable. All the other ones were adorable too but their two-year-old selves are more fuzzy. He's a child, who, when I say "guess what? I may have a heart of stone, but. Last month. He still looks little when he's asleep. This is his self-proclaimed favorite place to sleep- my bed. Brown eggs and jam. He is your baby! So may...
