Rex and Nancy's Travels - "ALL WHO WANDER ARE NOT LOST" - JRR Tolkein. Monday, June 30, 2014. June 19-22, 2014 – Suffolk and Newport News, VA. Thursday morning we drove to Suffolk, VA where we are staying at Davis Lakes RV Resort. This is a very nice resort around three small lakes and has very good electricity which we will need because it is hot and humid. We were told when we checked in that they are having an unusually hot spell right now. Wheel We enjoy walking the dogs around the lakes each evening.

After dinner we took a short walk along the river and saw a lot of bald eagles. The eagles are very vocal and perch in the trees around the campground. Friday we drove south to Jack Point Park where we hiked on the 2.5 km (1.5 mile) trail along a small peninsula to Jack Point. The trail starts along the Nanaimo River estuary and was bordered with blackberry bushes loaded with green fruit. A short ways into the hike was this beautiful wood carving beside the trail. We enjoyed watching the waves hitting the rocks.
